Unlocking the Potential of Girls in SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATHEMATICS

    StemKenya is a science programme activity that was initiated by the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa to support Kenya’s efforts to reduce the gender gap in STEM by mentoring secondary school girls in STEM through scientific Camps of Excellence. The programme is based at the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. Our offices are at the UN Complex in Gigiri. Other key partners in the programme include the Ministry of Education, the National Commision for Science Technology and Innovation, Kenyan Universities and Industries.

    I used to say that physics is hard and not for women but now I have the idea how it’s helpful and I will do it. I think it had changed my mind and I am going to work hard. The event was awesome and what I wish is that it could be there every year or annually
